Its beginning to look a lot like christmas.

I woke this morning to the first flurry of snow on the ground, im hoping it was just a small shower and tomorrow there wont be any more. I have been so bogged under with coursework that i keep forgetting how close christmas day actually is - 18 days! I was looking on the topshop website earlier and i found their range of christmas jumpers , so i thought i would do a quick post to get everyone into the festive spirit!

dress to impress.

i can't believe that its the first of december already, the year has flown by - does anyone else feel like that? a quick update on the nail wraps that my previous post is about - i had so many comments on how good my nails looked, so i would recommend them to you all to try! im starting to get into the festive spirit now, however im yet to start any christmas shopping.. i have a few festive nights out planned, so i am now on the hunt for the perfect dress for the party season. i think the pink topshop dress is my favourite, its not a colour i usually wear, but i love the shoulder detailing.

all about the dots.

I hope everyone is well, i'm full of the cold so i'm feeling a bit sorry for myself, so i've wrapped myself in my duvet with a hot water bottle. To try and make myself feel a bit better i thought i would try out some beauty therapy and try out the nail rock nail wraps from this months GlossyBox. So how to nail rock?

Push back your cuticles and using a nail file, shape your nail edge. Then take a nail buffer  - a smooth nail file will work if you don't have one of these, remove your nails natural shine to allow the wrap to stick better. Choose the wrap that is closest to your cuticle line, place the wrap at the edge of your cuticle and firmly press it down onto the nail following your nails natural shape. The excess can be filed off by runing the file under your nail. Easy peasey and your nails look so cute! I will keep you posted with how long they last.

todays shoot.

For part of my coursework this year, as a course we produce a fashion magazine. Today my groups shoot took place, so i thought i would share a few photos to give you an idea of the final shoot - they are just from my phone so the quality isn't too great... The model Morven was fantastic, as were our two photographers. Myself and some of my fellow bloggers joli, alannah and jemma styled the shoot and came up with the idea for the storyline. The  dresses and accessories from the shoot were borrowed from a vintage shop called once upon a time and some were our own. The day unfortunately had to be cut short due to aberdeens unpredictable weather, however from what we saw the photographs look great! Once i receive a copy of the final photographs i'll post them up!

today i bought.

my original plan to come straight home from uni and do my coursework failed and instead i found myself in topshop searching for a winter coat - which i still havent found. i managed to stop myself from any crazy shopping and bought only a few items; a red/wine colour cable kit hat to keep my ears cosy, a crucifix necklace and a ring which i snapped up in the sale section. I absolutely love the necklace, the silver cross hangs  on a suede rope, next to this hangs a gold plaque that reads "peu de nous ou la force de changer l'histoire" which roughly translated means "few of us are forced to change history", it is  a saying that i have never heard this saying before, but i thought it was really meaningful.

I recieved my urban outfitters magazine through the post today, finding it very hard to resist using the 15% off discount code to do some online shopping! i'm off out tonight for a family meal for my brothers 21st - which i'm yet to get him a present for. oops. hope you are all having a lovely week.

winter blues.

I have to apologise for neglecting my blog over the past few days. This is due to my ever increasing list of coursework that I have put off doing for weeks. I also haven't been feeling 100%, which I'm blaming the cold weather for! So a quick post to fill you in on my recent happenings. I went to see Nero + Tinie Tempah on Sunday, I was rushing last minute to get ready. I did some DIY on an old grey top from h&m and cut it into a vest, wearing it with a pair of levi shorts and accessorized it with an inverted cross necklace.  I'm feeling a bit brighter today due to the fact it's payday and I received an email this week for a uni trip for London fashion week in february with my course! I have a friends 20th on Saturday, so I'm going to treat myself to a pair of new shoes, then work an outfit around them. Below are some shoes perfect for the party season!

coming soon.

ahh how stunning is versaces collection for h&m, i love how much detail has gone into every piece, incorporating some of versace's signature style and prints - roll on november 17th when it hits the shops! my favourite is the leather studded dress - however i don't know if my student budget could justify paying the £179.99, i may have to put it on my list for santa. i've got the week off uni to "study", so today im putting my free time to good use by going for lunch with my friend gordo and  continuing my search for winter warmers.i will do my coursework at some point.

new buys.

okay so i got a bit carried away with myself on asos. when i saw this black blouse with the embroidered crosses on it, i instantly added it to my basket. i have worn the blouse twice now and have received many compliments on it. my favourite pair of black wedges are looking a bit worn now after suffering many drunken nights out, so i treated myself to these new ones - which are beautiful! i have worn them out and i have to say they are very comfy. last night's few drinks with friends turned into many drinks where raspberry sambuca was involved, so im curled up on my sofa nursing a hangover with series one of friends on and a dominos on its way. hope everyone had a fun weekend!

winter warmers.

living in aberdeen means the majority of my wardrobe has to be cosey clothes for most of the year, with the unpredictable weather. im trying to fnd a jacket that is a reasonable price, fashionable and will prevent hypothermia - but there are so many on the high street to choose from. im not a huge fan of the cape trend and fur can be pretty impractical for the snow/rain, but i've got my eye on a few, will keep you posted when i find a jacket that ticks all the boxes.

tiger feet.

so i promised on my last post to show you what i wore for halloween, i've got to admit i was a bit of a cop out and went as a tiger. I last minute found a tiger print tiger dress on missguided, put on a pair of ears and drew a nose on - which by the end of the night had definately rubbed off. I went to a halloween party at my friend brogan's (gene simmons) flat, where a bottle of black absinthe was brought out, needless to say it was a messy night. Next year i will have a better costume!

leather love.

I'm a big fan of leather and have been trying to find a leather skirt for a while. I was tempted to by this number from river island at £75, but i held off and shopped around.
The other day i had an amazing find in primark, the skirt is very similar and less than half the price. The skater style of the skirt is very on trend right now, and i love the pleated finish.  It was hidden away in a corner with only three left, luckily there was one in my size. For a night out recently i paired it up with a peachy coloured sheer shirt and a pair of black wedges. Monday is halloween, so im off costume shopping, post will follow with what i buy.
